Changes that you have requested are on the way

Hello everyone. We've been hard at work on many of the great suggestions that you've sent us. This week we've been cooking up some changes to the group home page, and hope to make them public very soon. The changes will make the home page more of a dashboard - something closer to the feel of the old group home page. Specifically:

- We're adding back a running list of new members. (It will only be visible to those who are signed in, though, to protect your privacy.)
- We're expanding the list of posts displayed from 5 to 20.
- We're converting the list of new posts to an "active" list. That is, it will show not only new posts but also posts with new replies. This will make it like the list of new comments that was on the old site's home page. So if you were to sit on the new group home page and refresh it all day, you'd see every single new post, and every post with new replies, pop right to the top of that list. You wouldn't miss a thing. And if you are away for a while, you can always get a list of everything that's new, or has new replies, by clicking "New" and then "Active."
- We're adding direct links to the discussion topics, so you can jump right to the discussions that you most want to read.
- We're moving the posts to the left column, since that makes for easier reading.
- And finally, anywhere on the site that we give you a list of posts, we're increasing the number of items per page from 10 to 20. Earlier this week we expanded the list of replies per page from 10 to 20, also.

We hope these changes make the home page much more useful for you.

Woo hoo!

Beth, how do community members find all previous posts with valuable information from LucyPT, Jerryd3001, Sarameeks, Sherribetz, Sequoiahealth; not to mention other community members that posted helpful information. Previously, all the posts were easy to access from Friend Quick Search by placing the community member's name in the Search and clicking on their name. No matter what I have tried, I cannot find all of the above community members posts. It would be a shame if that information was lost. The Inspire group may not be aware, but especially in the case of Sara Meeks and Sherri Betz, both very respected in the osteoporosis field, it was quite an asset to the osteoporosis community when both women accepted my invitation. Free advice from such professionals does not come often. It would be a loss to the communtiy members if the information from various discussions from physical therapists and other health professionals that agreed to participate with posts is no longer availabe to the members of the community. Sandi

Sandi,

Everything that was posted to the Community is still here. We are working on returning the discussions folks have participated in to the profiles.

Thanks,
Beth

beth,

thanks, beth! and inspire team. :)

Thank You Beth & inspire team
I like the new site better great job!

Just a suggestion: knowing the actual time and date of your postings is helpful. "Yesterday" is not. The actual time and date would be better [in my never-to-be-humble opinion]. I'm still getting used to you, but I'm sure that will come in time.

Keep up the good work. And BTW, that's my grandson, Alex Anderson [and Roxie], in the upper right corner of your page. Thanks.

Fantastic....Thank you! Raena

Hi Beth, I don't envey all the work you have been doing. What happened to the information that was in my 'old' profile. I dread going through two plus years of reports to find dates, medications that work or did not work so that I can pass it on to others. Is this information out there somewhere? I have posted a brief explanation of Bob's dx etc. on my 'new' profile.
Thanks,
Alice

Hi Alice,

Anything that was in your old profile that is not in your new profile should have been sent to you in a message. If you did not get one, please let me know and I'll look into it further.

Thanks!
Beth

It is really disconcerting to have the print start on the left side with no margin. It distracts from readability.
There is a reason to have a margin around a page.
Please change the layout so there is a few white spaces before the column starts.

Hi Julie,

Thanks for that suggestion, we are having our designer look into that.

I HATE the new site... cant find any of the old posts...

I'm very pleased with all the changes and appreciate the hours and hours you've spent bringing this about for us all. Thank you so much!

How do I go back and look for old posts? I was looking for something I had read prior to the changes, and now I am lost. I continue having difficulty with this new site even with the improvements. I also cannot find all of the bloggers from the original site. Do they all have name changes or are they gone? Kareno

i'd like to suggest that replies and comments in this thread have the same supportive and respectful tone used in the individual communities where each of us has come to get and give support. there are ways to indicate you're not happy with something that don't attack the recipient. constructive criticism is also much better received than criticism that has no positive energy behind it. i've been really surprised at the tone of some of the comments.

Sorry, this journal entry is closed to replies.
