Had my first chemo with Doxil yesterday and was very nauseated. Have others had this experience and did it continue?

I've had 2 treatments of Doxil and am going for #3 this week. I did not have any nausea with the treatments, and have had only mild nausea in between. I have Compazine and Zofran, but don't need them every day. Hopefully what you experienced will be temporary. I've noticed that Doxil side effects come and go, appear at different times - not like what you get with Taxol/carbo. I'm sure your doctor will give you something. The strongest anti-nausea med I've ever used is Emend and it works well.

I wish you good luck with everything.

Thanks. I have Zofran for nausea and feel better today.

Barbann, I had my first dose of Doxil today so I will keep in touch, so far no nausea, but it has only been a few hours. Hope things get better for you, and stay good for me. Hugs

Pam

Thanks, Pam! Hope all goes well for you.

Hello, my Mom has Ovarian Cancer, Stage 3c. Her Cancer spread to her spleen, appendix and now her bowels she has ascities and was drained weekly then had surgery to remove all those major organs. The 1st chemo she had was Taxol/carbo which she had NO problems with then she was able to go into remission. Unfortunatly 6 weeks later it came back in the abdominal area, a light coating on her liver and thick in her bowels. She just had her 1st round of Doxil last wed. and is having ALOT of problems with her bowels having loose BM's but not liquid she is vomiting, and having nausea and is taking the Camazine & ondansetron either way that is not working she has no appetite and is drinking fluids but it fatuiged but cant sleep to well at night and has no energy but we have NO idea what she should eat specifically that wont make her vomit. We spoke to a dietian and she suggested her to eat all the things that everyother things on the internet has said handy snacks like crackers, yogurt, cheese, dips, cooked eggs, pudding, banana's, fruits, veggies like pea's, bean's, winter squash, meat, starch ect. I mean we've tried a good bit of these but she just throw's them up..seeing my Mom like this is killing me and I just wanted to know 1st hand from you ladies if there is ANYTHING specific food wise or anything you can suggest to help..she's so sick and uncomfortable not from pain though just icky feeling. PLEASE HELP if you can. Thank you.
